Apple has rolled out a crucial update for new iPhone users experiencing wireless charging issues. A glitch has been hindering some devices from wirelessly charging, forcing affected individuals to resort to MagSafe wireless charging instead.
Although Apple indicates that only a small portion of users have been impacted, it is advisable for all users to ensure their devices are up-to-date.
The affected devices requiring the update include the iPhone 17 series, including the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone Air.
According to Apple, the update resolves a problem that may prevent wired charging on iPhone Air and iPhone 17 models when the battery is nearly depleted.
To update your device, navigate to Settings, tap on General, and select Software Update. Look for iOS version 26.5.1, and choose to update immediately or schedule it for overnight installation.
Ensure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network or have unlimited mobile data as the update file size is substantial at 13.6GB.
