“Close Farage Associate Pleads Guilty to Pro-Russia Bribes”

“An individual with close ties to Nigel Farage, described as ‘Putin friendly,’ is facing scrutiny over potential negative impacts on UK defense capabilities,” Members of Parliament have been informed.

Keir Starmer criticized Reform UK amidst growing concerns about Russian involvement in British politics. This criticism comes after the conviction of Reform’s former leader in Wales for accepting bribes to promote pro-Russia agendas.

Nathan Gill, identified as a close associate of Mr. Farage by Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey, has pleaded guilty to eight counts of bribery for advocating on behalf of Russia. Gill’s sentencing is scheduled for later this month.

During a session of PMQs, Sir Ed Davey highlighted the need for a thorough investigation into Russian influence and financial contributions in British politics, citing the case of Nathan Gill’s connections to the Reform Party leader.

In response, the Prime Minister emphasized the potential detrimental effects of a Reform government on UK’s alliances, particularly with NATO partners. He expressed concerns about Russian interference being a persistent threat and underscored the importance of countering Russian aggression.

The Labour leader further emphasized the significance of UK’s role within NATO and the risks posed by being perceived as “Putin friendly.” He stressed the need to maintain trust within the coalition of nations and safeguard national security interests.

Former UKIP and Brexit Party MEP Nathan Gill, who previously led Reform in Wales, has acknowledged receiving bribes from a figure linked to Russian security services. Gill’s actions included making speeches supportive of Vladimir Putin’s associates on various platforms.

Nathan Gill’s defense of Russian-linked media outlets in Ukraine in a parliamentary speech in 2018 has raised further concerns about his affiliations.
