“Ikea UK Boosts Discounts for Teachers and Healthcare Workers”

Ikea in the UK has rolled out a new discount program for education and healthcare workers, offering a 6% discount in stores. This initiative is a result of a partnership with savings platforms Discounts for Teachers and Health Service Discounts. Previously, these workers could access a 4% discount on Ikea’s website, but now they can also enjoy the increased discount in physical stores by signing into the relevant app and scanning their code at checkout.

Jen Haslam, the Chief Revenue Officer at Discounts for Teachers and Health Service Discounts, expressed pride in providing this discount to members, acknowledging the crucial role teachers and healthcare workers play in society. Nikos Koskinas, Retail Partnerships Manager at Discounts for Teachers and Health Service Discounts, highlighted the positive impact of extending this exclusive saving to both online and in-store purchases, showing commitment to supporting education and healthcare professionals nationwide.

In a related move, Ikea has introduced a £2 click and collect fee for online orders picked up in-store starting September 2025. However, members of the Family loyalty scheme can still avail of this service for free. Additionally, Ikea customers can collect orders from select Tesco car parks, DPD, or locker pick-up points, albeit with charges for orders below a certain threshold.

Ikea emphasized their commitment to transparent pricing and enhancing delivery options to provide increased convenience for customers. To ensure financial sustainability and expand services, a £2 fee for non-Ikea Family members has been introduced for Click and Collect. Ikea Family members, who can join for free, continue to enjoy free collection across all Click and Collect options.
