Anthony Joshua showcased his commitment by dancing with the mothers of his two late friends who perished in a tragic car accident. Following his recent triumph in December, Joshua was involved in a distressing car crash in Nigeria, resulting in the loss of his strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami, and personal trainer, Latif “Latz” Ayodele.
Shortly after the devastating incident, the former heavyweight world champion pledged lifelong support to the families of his departed friends. Joshua honored his promise by participating in a special gathering dedicated to mothers over the weekend.
In a heartfelt moment captured on video during the Mother’s Day celebration, the 36-year-old boxer took to the dance floor with the grieving mothers. Expressing his emotions, Joshua articulated his gratitude for the presence of his friends’ mothers and emphasized the interconnectedness of their relationships.
While still recuperating from the crash, Joshua has resumed training and is anticipated to return to the ring later this summer. Speculations suggest a potential match with Dillian Whyte before a highly anticipated showdown with Tyson Fury, as confirmed by boxing journalist Gareth A Davies.
Davies disclosed that the Fury-Joshua fight has been agreed upon and signed behind the scenes. The all-British clash is expected to be broadcast live on Netflix, possibly in late 2023 or early 2024. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, indicated a late summer return for Joshua, postponing the Fury fight to the end of the year or early the following year, citing the boxer’s need for adequate preparation and recovery.
