“Freeview Overhauls TV Guide with Channel Relocations & Renamings”

Freeview has announced significant changes to its TV guide, including channel repositioning and renaming. The notable update involves the closure of Talk (Ch 280), a British news channel known for its focus on debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics with popular presenters like Jeremy Kyle, Mark Dolan, and Kevin O’Sullivan.

Viewers who wish to access Talk will now need to stream the service through the official Talk app or other platforms such as Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.

In addition to the channel closure, Freeview’s latest update includes the rebranding of Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 to simply Wedotv. Furthermore, three services are relocating on the planner, with Ketchup TV moving from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too shifting from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics moving from Ch 214 to Ch 210.

Freeview confirmed that on June 25, 2026, certain broadcasters will be implementing changes to their channels. The platform emphasized that channels are constantly evolving, with individual channels choosing to relocate, add, or remove content to ensure a diverse viewing experience.

To ensure access to all channels, users are advised to navigate to their TV settings and perform a retune, as this will update the TV and keep the channel lineup and TV guide current.

For those needing guidance on how to retune their TV, the steps are as follows:
– Press the menu button on your box or TV remote control.
– Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’, or a similar option. If prompted for a password, the default codes are ‘1234’ or ‘0000’.
– Choose ‘first-time installation’ (sometimes labeled ‘factory reset’, ‘full retune’, or ‘default settings’).
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels if prompted, and the retune process should commence automatically. Save any found channels as necessary.
