The Princess of Wales surprised everyone by appearing with Prince William at Windsor Castle to welcome their royal friends, Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Princess Rajwa. The meeting, originally planned for William and Hussein, turned into a friendly gathering with Kate joining in. The couples, known to be close friends, posed for a photo at the castle. Kate wore a recycled camel-colored Roland Mouret trouser suit while Rajwa opted for a black and white outfit.
Following the meeting, William and Hussein visited RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, where they interacted with personnel and learned about their roles in various operations worldwide. RAF Benson, a crucial base for UK military operations, houses Squadrons like No. 22 Squadron, which focuses on testing, evaluation, and training.
Both the Prince of Wales and the Crown Prince of Jordan are trained helicopter pilots, with William training at RAF Shawbury and RAF Valley. The visit emphasized the strong relationship between the two princes and their shared support for the Armed Forces.
The bond between William and Hussein was highlighted in the past when William visited Hussein’s residence in Jordan to watch a football match. Hussein and Rajwa, who got married in 2023, recently welcomed their first child, Princess Iman.
Jordan holds a special place for Kate, who lived there as a child. In 2021, William and Kate visited Jordan with their children for a private holiday, showcasing their connection to the country. The visit was a promise fulfilled by William after his 2018 trip to Jordan.
