A medical professional has brought attention to the earliest indication of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. They refer to it as a significant symptom of cognitive conditions. Dementia is characterized by a continuous decline in brain function with various causes and variations.
It is common for individuals to confuse Alzheimer’s disease with dementia. Notably, Alzheimer’s disease falls under the category of dementia. Dr. Stephen Cabral, an expert in neuropathy and host of The Cabral Concept podcast, has highlighted a specific sign that could indicate the presence of dementia, along with another symptom to watch out for.
In a video titled “The earliest sign of Alzheimer’s and Dementia is getting lost more easily,” Dr. Cabral explained that the primary indicator is experiencing difficulty in finding one’s way. He emphasized that this is a clear sign of the development of cognitive diseases in later stages of life.
Dr. Cabral also mentioned a secondary warning sign, which he referred to as ‘1B’, indicating that it is secondary to the initial symptom. He pointed out that individuals may struggle with parking correctly, which could be an early sign of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
According to the NHS, symptoms of dementia may include a decreased interest in regular activities, difficulty in controlling behavior and emotions, challenges in social interactions, reduced interest in maintaining relationships, changes in personality, and a decline in empathy.
In the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, memory lapses are the primary symptom. Additionally, individuals may exhibit mood changes like increased anxiety or agitation, and periods of confusion.
