“Putin’s Poseidon Torpedo: Unprecedented Nuclear Power”

Vladimir Putin has conducted a successful test of a nuclear torpedo with the capability of causing devastating damage to coastlines, marking it as a significant achievement. The Russian leader praised the test, emphasizing the weapon’s potential to create radioactive tsunamis that could render entire coastlines uninhabitable. He highlighted the successful launch of the torpedo from a carrier submarine, along with the activation of its nuclear power unit, showcasing unprecedented capabilities.

Named Poseidon, the torpedo’s power surpasses that of the Russian-developed Sarmat intercontinental missile, also known as the SS-X-29 or Satan II. Putin underscored the immense power of Poseidon, comparing it favorably to the Sarmat missile. This test follows a series of recent military demonstrations by Russia, including the launch of the “Flying Chernobyl” missile just days earlier.

In a separate development, Moscow’s top general confirmed the successful testing of an experimental low-flying cruise missile powered by a nuclear reactor, capable of virtually unlimited range. Referred to as Burevestnik in Russia and code-named “Skyfall” by NATO, the missile possesses advanced capabilities to evade missile and air defense systems, as stated by General Valery Gerasimov. The general highlighted the missile’s precision in targeting heavily fortified objectives at any distance.

The recent tests are perceived as strategic messages, particularly in light of the breakdown in plans for a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump regarding the situation in Ukraine. Responding to the Russian tests, President Trump mentioned the presence of a US nuclear submarine near the Russian coast, downplaying Russia’s military activities. Trump emphasized the need for ending ongoing conflicts rather than engaging in missile tests, pointing to the prolonged duration of certain conflicts as a more pressing issue.
