“Palantir Offers £60K Internship to School Grads”

A renowned technology firm specializing in AI-driven software is providing a unique internship opportunity with an annual salary of £60,000 to school graduates. Palantir Technologies is encouraging young individuals to forego university debt by applying for its Meritocracy Fellowship program. Successful candidates will engage in full-time work at the company’s London headquarters for a period of five months, receiving a pro-rata salary of up to £60,000.

Following the internship, there is a possibility of transitioning into a permanent position with the company and potentially earning a higher income, although this is not guaranteed. As reported by The Sun, participants will contribute to projects aimed at safeguarding Western values and supporting vital institutions like the NHS to address significant challenges.

Palantir aims to attract aspiring computer science students to the initiative. Eligible candidates must have completed their A-Levels or equivalent qualifications by the fellowship’s commencement in October 2026. The internship program is scheduled to conclude in February 2027.

Louis Mosley, the executive vice president and head of Palantir UK, emphasized the company’s quest for top tech talent in the UK. He highlighted the opportunity for eighteen-year-olds to gain hands-on experience alongside leading engineers globally, emphasizing the value of practical learning at Palantir compared to traditional university education.

The initiative comes at a time of increasing dissatisfaction with the Plan 2 student loan system, which charges interest based on inflation rates. Chancellor Rachel Reeves recently announced a freeze on the repayment salary threshold at £29,385 for the next three years starting in April. Acknowledging the system’s flaws, Ms. Reeves expressed a commitment to addressing the issue despite it not being the government’s immediate priority.

In her remarks following a lecture to the City of London, Ms. Reeves emphasized the importance of improving the student loan system while recognizing the broader challenges facing young people not engaged in education, employment, or training. She affirmed the intention to enhance the system but clarified that it was not the primary focus at present.
