Amazon is rolling out a significant free upgrade for select Fire TV Stick models to improve user experience. The update brings a modern interface with refreshed typography, redesigned color gradients, and enhanced layouts on the homescreen. Users can expect faster navigation, with performance enhancements of up to 30 percent when browsing menus.
In addition to visual and speed improvements, users can now pin up to 20 apps on the home screen, an increase from the previous limit of six. Access to Games, Art & Photos, and the Ambient Experience has been streamlined through the Menu button on the remote control.
A new shortcut panel has been added, accessible by long-pressing the Home button, providing quick access to common Fire TV controls, such as audio and display settings. Amazon is also introducing Alexa+, an upgraded assistant designed to expedite content discovery and improve user interaction, set to launch in the UK later this year.
Alongside the Fire TV Stick update, Amazon is revamping the Fire TV mobile app to offer content browsing, watchlist management, and direct title playback on TVs. The redesigned app mirrors the updated Fire TV interface, turning smartphones into a second screen for easier content discovery and recommendation management while on the go.
The update will initially roll out in the U.S. and later expand to other regions. Devices receiving the new Fire TV update include the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series in the U.S., with plans for wider availability in more countries and on additional devices in the spring.
Users can look forward to enhanced functionality and a seamless user experience with the latest Fire TV updates from Amazon.
