David Schumacher, the nephew of legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, has recently announced his engagement to Vivien Keszthelyi. The couple, who met through a mutual acquaintance and have been in a relationship for several years, shared the exciting news on social media during the weekend.
David, known for his participation in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with the HRT Ford Performance team, proposed to Vivien while they were enjoying a trip to the Maldives.
Posting romantic pictures on Instagram, the 24-year-old joyfully declared, “She said yes. The ocean witnessed our love, and the sunset sealed our promise. 05.11.2025.” Vivien also expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support and well-wishes from friends and followers.
Among those who celebrated the news was David’s father, Ralf Schumacher, a successful Formula 1 racer with six victories to his name. The post garnered over 20,000 likes, with Ralf being one of the first to show his approval. The Schumacher family has faced challenges, particularly since Michael Schumacher’s skiing accident in 2013, which left him needing constant medical care at home.
Following Michael’s accident, he spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before returning home. Dr. Jussi Posti, a neurosurgeon closely monitoring Michael’s condition, revealed that it seems Michael has been mostly confined to a hospital-like setting at home for the past decade.
In a recent Netflix documentary about Michael’s life, his wife Corinna shared poignant insights. She reflected on the tragic accident, emphasizing that despite missing Michael daily, it was a stroke of bad luck that changed their lives forever. Their son Mick also expressed how their shared passion for motorsport would have deepened their bond, had the accident not occurred.
The Schumacher family continues to navigate the challenges brought about by the accident, while cherishing memories of their time together before the tragic event.
