‘The Nuke’ Luke Littler Skips BBC Sports Awards, Tips Lando Norris

Luke Littler announced his decision not to attend the upcoming BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, despite being nominated for the prestigious accolade. He expressed his belief that Lando Norris is likely to clinch the top prize this year.

At just 18 years old, Littler, also known as ‘The Nuke,’ is among the six nominees competing for the esteemed award, alongside other contenders such as Rory McIlroy, Chloe Kelly, Hannah Hampton, and Ellie Kildunne. Although he missed out on the award last year to Keely Hodgkinson, Littler remains focused on his upcoming second-round match against either Mario Vandenbogaerde or David Davies, scheduled two days after the awards ceremony on December 18.

When asked about the ceremony, Littler stated that he will not be attending and predicted Norris as the probable winner. Reflecting on his year, he acknowledged missing out on only four major wins and speculated on his chances if he had secured those victories. However, he wished luck to all the nominees vying for the award.

In the following days, Littler plans to relax at home, with a highlight being his attendance at Manchester United’s match against Bournemouth on Monday. A devoted Red Devils fan, he recently witnessed the team’s victory against Wolves at Molineux, sparking excitement on social media.

Responding to inquiries about his ticket acquisition for the game, Littler clarified that Adidas had provided him with tickets for the match. As he progresses in the competition, having secured a 3-0 victory over Darius Labanauskas at Ally Pally, Littler shared his post-match feelings, emphasizing the importance of the first set in settling his nerves during the game.

Looking ahead to the World Darts Championship, where Littler aims to defend his title, the young player will face tough competition from rival Luke Humphries. The event promises thrilling matchups and features various top contenders, with exclusive insights from players and experts.
