Apple has launched AppleCare One in the UK, expanding its services to British customers after a successful debut in the US last year. This subscription offers a convenient and potentially cost-effective way for users with multiple Apple devices to safeguard their gadgets under a single plan.
Priced at £16.99 per month, AppleCare One provides coverage for up to three eligible devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In the event of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will either repair the device or offer up to three replacement devices per year, depending on the nature of the claim.
This new service enhances the existing AppleCare+ by allowing customers to protect multiple products with a single subscription, eliminating the need for separate plans. The cost savings could be significant, with Apple stating that users covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to £11.48 per month compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans for each device.
One notable advantage of AppleCare One is the flexibility it offers regarding device eligibility. Users can add devices up to four years old to the plan as long as they are in good condition, a substantial improvement over the typical 60-day window for purchasing AppleCare+ post-device acquisition.
According to Apple, the plan seamlessly adapts to device upgrades. When a covered device is traded in for a replacement from Apple, the old product is automatically removed from the subscription, and the new one is added without any additional steps.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized the customer-centric approach behind AppleCare One, highlighting the simplicity and flexibility it provides. He mentioned that the plan offers peace of mind by ensuring that all eligible products can be covered under one subscription.
By introducing AppleCare One in the UK, Apple aims to deliver a streamlined and user-friendly experience for customers seeking reliable protection for their Apple devices.
