Jake Paul’s Promoter Investigates Davis Allegations

Jake Paul’s promotional company has issued a statement following allegations against Gervonta Davis, Paul’s scheduled opponent in an upcoming exhibition fight. The accusations against Davis include battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping by his ex-girlfriend.

The exhibition bout between Paul and Davis is set to take place in Miami on November 14, despite the weight difference between the two fighters. Although the fight will not affect their professional records, a winner will be determined either by stoppage or by a panel of judges, including an AI official if the fight goes the distance.

Amid calls to cancel the fight due to the allegations against Davis, reports have surfaced indicating that Paul has considered Ryan Garcia as a replacement. However, Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s promotional company, has stated that no decision has been finalized yet.

The statement released by Most Valuable Promotions mentioned their immediate investigation into the civil lawsuit against Davis filed on October 30, 2025. They emphasized their commitment to denounce violence and assured a thorough review of the situation before making any decisions. The company will consult with relevant parties before commenting further or taking any action.

While Davis has not responded to the accusations, his trainer, Calvin Ford, dismissed them as baseless. According to the lawsuit, Davis allegedly assaulted his ex-partner at her workplace on October 27 and had made threats against her life. The ex-partner also claimed that Davis had physically assaulted and choked her on multiple occasions, seeking $50,000 in damages and a jury trial.

Ryan Garcia’s involvement in a potential fight with Paul has been ruled out by promoter Oscar De La Hoya due to contractual obligations with different platforms. Paul may postpone his return to the ring to December and had previously been linked to a fight with heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, though a deal at short notice seems improbable.
