Beauty brand Malin + Goetz has entered administration, leading to the closure of its seven stores in the UK. The affected locations include London’s Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, impacting over 70 jobs.
In response to the situation, online orders for Malin + Goetz products have been temporarily suspended, with a message on their website informing customers of the pause in accepting orders. However, consumers can still purchase the brand’s products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
A spokesperson for Malin + Goetz addressed the company’s decision to enter administration, citing a thorough review of the business and the exhaustion of all viable alternatives. The closure of UK stores and the head office was described as a difficult but necessary step, resulting in job losses that were regrettable but unavoidable.
Although the brand’s website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, the exact duration remains uncertain. Malin + Goetz, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered six products catering to all skin types before expanding into fragrance, body care, and other beauty segments.
