A tennis enthusiast who gained online fame for supporting Emma Raducanu has been ejected from the Australian Open for disruptive behavior. James Bray made headlines when Raducanu acknowledged him post-match, but his rowdy conduct while cheering for another player led to his removal from the Rod Laver Arena.
Bray, known for his ‘Australia’ tank top, affectionately referred to as ‘Raddo’ by Raducanu, was escorted out by police officers and handed a 24-hour ban along with a fine. Despite his sarcastic response to the situation, Bray filmed his departure, describing the experience as “quite fun.”
The fan expressed his disappointment at being ousted for what he considered standard fan behavior, emphasizing that he was not disrespectful. Tennis Australia confirmed that Bray had received warnings before being escorted out, citing his disruptive behavior despite staff instructions to cease.
Victoria Police disclosed that 21 individuals, including Bray, were removed from the tennis venue for various disruptive incidents, highlighting the overall positive crowd behavior at the Australian Open. Authorities expressed satisfaction with the crowd conduct and anticipated a successful continuation of the event.
