A passenger stated that cruise staff confirmed the incident and the ship is currently in “search and rescue mode,” navigating the Atlantic Ocean.
The Norwegian cruise departed from Barcelona on October 15, 2025. A British passenger, preferring anonymity, recounted being awoken by the captain’s announcement of “code Oscar starboard.” Upon researching, they discovered the signal signifies a person overboard. Subsequently, an announcement confirmed the overboard situation, prompting the ship to continue circling.
