Some Sky customers are facing a frustrating issue with the popular ITVX app. Complaints started surfacing late last week, with users reporting that their viewing experience was disrupted by a glitch that abruptly jumps to the end of programs at random moments. This glitch causes viewers to be abruptly taken to the credits without any input on the remote, even when they are only halfway through a show.
On Sky’s forum page, a user named Dazzasky mentioned, “ITV Player randomly skips ahead, usually right to the end of the episode and is making it quite difficult tbh… this has been happening for the last 4 or 5 days.” Another user, Dawn, also shared her experience, stating, “Is anyone else having issues watching programs on ITVX for the last 3 days? I’m watching, then suddenly jumped to the end randomly, usually at the beginning of the program or right after an ad break.”
The issue seems to be affecting users with Sky’s online devices, including Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. While it is unclear if Sky Q is also impacted, most complaints are from users with broadband-powered devices rather than satellite dishes.
The cause of the problem is currently unknown. However, a Sky representative named Kev has acknowledged the issue and assured users that the company is actively working on a solution. Kev stated, “We can understand how frustrating this must be and have escalated the problem to our support teams. They will collaborate with ITV to resolve the issue. I will provide updates as soon as more information is available.”
For now, users may have to tolerate the skipping issue until a fix is implemented. Mirror Online will provide updates on this matter as soon as new developments emerge.
