“Tesco: Your One-Stop Health Hub”

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, occasional extra support and guidance are essential. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than half a million customers weekly, stands ready to assist. Tesco offers easy access to prescriptions, a wide array of healthcare services, and the opportunity to consult their expert pharmacists while doing your regular shopping.

Balancing essential health check-ups with hectic schedules can be challenging for many individuals. Seeking health information online when time is limited can sometimes lead to more stress than relief. “This is why we provide convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and wellness products in our pharmacies for customers to utilize during their store visit,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and vaccines to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a comprehensive hub for friendly guidance. “A brief in-store visit can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” notes Tom.

In addition to quick treatments for common ailments like sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs, pharmacists at Tesco can save time by prescribing through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For more persistent health concerns, Tesco Pharmacists have received specialized training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation. This empowers them to offer information, support, and awareness on cancer, heart diseases, circulatory issues, and type 2 diabetes. Customers can easily approach pharmacists with Let’s Talk badges at the pharmacy counter for assistance.

“Our pharmacy teams are available for prompt, friendly walk-in blood pressure checks, without the need for an appointment, to address any heart health queries,” assures Tom. Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 free blood pressure tests for customers this year, making a significant impact.

The benefits of in-store pharmacy services extend beyond customers to Tesco colleagues. “Our colleagues can also access the convenience of pharmacy support and other health services,” Tom mentions. All employees have access to virtual GP consultations and additional assistance on sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.
