“Tragic Deaths of Two Young Children in Staffordshire Home”

Staffordshire Police have identified two young children, Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, three, who were tragically discovered deceased with injuries in a residence on Corporation Street in Stafford. The children were found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have notified their next of kin and are providing support through trained personnel.

A 43-year-old woman, a resident of Stafford, has been detained on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody as investigations are ongoing. Police have maintained a cordon at the location on Corporation Street. The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to prior police interactions, as per standard procedure.

Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield stated, “We are diligently working to comprehend the events leading to the tragic loss of these two children. Speculation should be avoided at this time out of respect for the affected families and to aid our inquiries. While this incident may raise concerns within the community, we do not perceive a broader threat to public safety presently.”

Emergency responders, including two ambulances and paramedic officers, were dispatched to the scene. Despite efforts, both children were pronounced deceased upon arrival. Local resident Luke Browne expressed sorrow over the incident, emphasizing the tragic nature of children losing their lives.

Staffordshire Police urge anyone with relevant information to contact them at 101 or via Live Chat on their website, referencing incident number 147 of 12 October. Anonymous tips can be reported to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
