“Newborn Baby Abandoned at NYC Train Station Found Safe”

A recently born baby girl, still connected to her umbilical cord, was discovered abandoned at a bustling train station during the busy rush hour on Monday morning. The infant was found at the foot of the subway stairs leading to the southbound 1, 2, and 3 trains at the 34th Street–Penn Station stop in New York City around 9:30 a.m.

Upon the baby’s discovery, a passerby immediately contacted emergency services, leading to a prompt arrival of assistance. The baby, who was conscious and responsive, was then taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition by authorities.

Authorities are currently examining surveillance footage in the area to identify the individual responsible for leaving the child, with no arrests made as of the afternoon of the same day.

In response to the incident, New York City Transit President Demetrius Crichlow referred to it as the ‘Miracle on 34th Street,’ noting that emergency services found the unattended baby at the 34th Street station following an anonymous report.

This incident follows a recent investigation where another newborn baby girl was discovered abandoned in a cardboard box at the side of a road. The finding was made by a passerby around 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24. The infant, believed to be just hours old, was promptly taken to the hospital and confirmed to be in good health by doctors.

The baby was found in Tuguegarao City in the Philippines, as stated in a release by the Philippine National Police (PNP). A social worker confirmed that the baby is stable but will be kept under observation at the hospital for up to five days for her continued well-being.

Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the quick response of local citizens and authorities, emphasizing the value of every life and the commitment of the PNP to identify the individual responsible for abandoning the child.
