“Pressure Mounts on Nigel Farage Over LGBT Rights Controversy”

Nigel Farage is under renewed pressure to address a situation where one of his Members of Parliament seemed to equate supporting LGBT rights with endorsing Hamas.

During a Reform UK membership promotion on YouTube, Danny Kruger, a former Tory member who switched to Reform UK, caused an uproar by suggesting that the UK might witness an alliance that supports LGBT rights. Labour MP Peter Swallow raised objections in the Commons, emphasizing the importance of LGBT rights in British values.

Swallow criticized Kruger’s comments, highlighting that equating backing LGBT rights with supporting Hamas, a terrorist group known for persecuting LGBT individuals, was unacceptable. Swallow urged fellow MPs to affirm the significance of LGBT rights to Kruger and the Reform party.

Kruger, the son of TV personality Prue Leith, warned of a potential future where a nationalist party supporting Hamas and LGBT rights could lead the UK. He expressed concern about various political factions uniting against the UK’s interests.

Following Kruger’s remarks, Labour MP Polly Billington condemned his statements as divisive and inappropriate, emphasizing that targeting the LGBT community for political gain is unacceptable. Billington called for Nigel Farage to denounce Kruger’s words.

The Mirror reached out to Reform for their response to the controversy. The situation has sparked a debate about the intersection of political ideologies and human rights, particularly in the context of UK politics.
