Fallon Sherrock has advised darts players to push through challenges without using illness as an excuse for poor performances. Michael van Gerwen, who missed Premier League matches due to sickness, received little sympathy from Sherrock.
Van Gerwen recently withdrew from three Premier League nights and struggled upon his return against Gerwyn Price. Sherrock, speaking on Double Tops, emphasized the importance of trying to perform well despite adversities, mentioning the challenges women face with periods and cramps.
Sherrock expressed her commitment to playing darts despite personal discomforts, highlighting the necessity to deliver on stage to avoid defeat. She voiced skepticism towards players citing illness or feeling unwell as reasons for underperformance.
Despite his setbacks, Van Gerwen holds the third position in the Premier League standings. In contrast, Luke Littler, the reigning world titleholder, has faced tougher competition, currently ranking seventh out of eight players before the upcoming match in Cardiff.
Sherrock remains optimistic about Littler’s potential, believing he is setting up a challenge for himself and will likely showcase a strong performance in the following weeks. She anticipates his resurgence and expects him to secure a spot at the O2 in London.
