Authorities have made an urgent plea following a car accident involving a woman pushing a stroller after the vehicle veered onto the sidewalk.
The incident occurred around 4:30 pm today on the R617 road between Blarney and Tower in Ireland. The woman in her thirties and the infant she was with were quickly taken to a hospital in Cork. Fortunately, the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, and the baby emerged unscathed, a development described as miraculous by a local firefighter.
Individuals who witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage from the area at that time are encouraged to contact emergency services.
A spokesperson from the Garda mentioned, “Gardaí and emergency services responded to the scene following a report of a collision between a car and two pedestrians in Blarney, Co. Cork, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at approximately 4:30 pm.”
“The pedestrians, a woman in her thirties and a male infant, were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. No other injuries were reported, and the road has since reopened. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, including those with dashcam or video recordings.”
Local councilor Damian Boylan expressed sympathy for the victim and praised the efforts of the Gardaí and emergency services. He commented, “This was an extremely unfortunate incident, and we are thankful that no lives were lost. It must have been a terrifying experience. My thoughts are with the woman and her family.”
He added, “I am confident that the Gardaí are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
