A six-year-old girl sustained a brain injury when part of a children’s playground ride collapsed during a birthday party in Ulan-Ude city, located in Russia’s Siberia region. The incident occurred as three girls were on a carousel at the Kovboy play center when a metal structure resembling a tree fell on one of the children, rendering her unconscious. The other girls fled the area following the accident.
Russian authorities have initiated a criminal investigation into the incident, stating that the collapse of the carousel structure led to the girl’s hospitalization with a traumatic brain injury and concussion. According to local reports, those responsible for the faulty ride could potentially face a prison sentence of up to two years.
This unfortunate event follows the recent tragedy involving a 12-year-old boy, Logan Carter, who tragically passed away after falling from a roundabout at the Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, Cheshire. Emergency crews attempted to save Logan, a devoted Liverpool fan, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Reports suggest that Logan was flung from the roundabout, with local claims indicating the possible involvement of an e-bike to spin the ride.
In a heartfelt statement, Logan’s family expressed their profound loss, describing him as a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend known for his vibrant personality and infectious smile. They emphasized his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him, highlighting his irreplaceable presence in their lives.
As the family mourns the loss of their cherished “blue-eyed boy,” they appreciate the outpouring of support received and request time to cope with the untimely tragedy.
