“Beauty Bay Considers Sale Amid Industry Turbulence”

A renowned online beauty retailer is potentially up for sale as advisors have been engaged to conduct a comprehensive business review. Beauty Bay, established in 1999 by siblings Arron and David Gabbie in Manchester, offers a wide array of over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its exclusive product line.

According to a recent report from Sky News, Beauty Bay is considering various options to secure new funding, which may involve a complete sale of the company. The advisory firm Interpath is collaborating with Beauty Bay on this initiative.

Employing a workforce of 65 individuals, Beauty Bay has been approached for comments by the Mirror. This development follows the recent news of Malin + Goetz, a beauty brand, going into administration and closing its seven stores in London, impacting over 70 jobs.

Malin + Goetz’s online orders have been temporarily halted, with a message on their website indicating a brief pause in online operations. Nonetheless, consumers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers such as Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.

A spokesperson for Malin + Goetz conveyed to TheIndustry.beauty, “After conducting an extensive business evaluation and exploring all feasible options, we have made the challenging yet necessary decision to place our UK operations in administration, leading to the closure of our UK stores and head office.”

The company’s website is anticipated to resume operations after a short maintenance period; however, the exact duration remains uncertain. Initially launched in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz began with a modest selection of six products catering to all skin types and has since diversified into fragrance, bodycare, and additional beauty categories.
