A man from Britain was discovered deceased with gunshot injuries in St Lucia on Tuesday. Identified as Kenrelle O’Flaherty, aged 26, he was residing in Anguilla but was visiting St Lucia when he was tragically shot in Garrand, Babonneau, located on the northeastern coast of the island.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force reported that officers from the Babonneau station received information about a motionless body on a road at approximately 10:50 pm. Upon reaching the scene, the police found O’Flaherty with visible gunshot wounds. Regrettably, he was declared dead on-site.
O’Flaherty, originally hailing from London and residing in nearby Anguilla, was believed to be on a brief visit to St Lucia. The duration of his stay on the island before the incident remains undisclosed. Law enforcement has initiated a homicide inquiry to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

In a separate incident, an elderly woman named Suzanne Rees, aged 80, was found deceased on Lizard Island in Queensland, Australia, after being left behind by a cruise ship. Rees, who was part of an organized hike, fell ill and was abandoned as the ship departed for its next destination, sparking criticism of Coral Expeditions, the cruise operator.
Coral Expeditions’ CEO, Mark Fifield, expressed regret over the unfortunate incident and extended condolences to Rees’s family.
