Co-op has introduced a significant update for its numerous online shopping loyalty members. By utilizing their weekly personalized offers, Co-op members can now save money when making online purchases, a feature previously limited to in-store shopping.
The supermarket emphasizes that shoppers have the potential to save more than £80 annually through these personalized offers, which include discounts and deals on regularly purchased items. Moreover, members can now redeem any monetary value added to their membership card online, including game prizes and bonus offers.
To benefit from these personalized offers, Co-op members must shop through shop.coop directly, as third-party delivery apps like Deliveroo or Just Eat do not support this feature. Last year, Co-op expanded its personalized offers by 67%, offering over 700 different deals, including popular brands like Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrams Choice, and Vimto.
Additionally, Co-op has extended member price savings to online platforms such as Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and its own online store. Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, expressed that the move to offer these perks online is in line with the company’s commitment to delivering value to its members, aiming to reach eight million members by 2030.
Co-op currently boasts around seven million members, with a membership fee of £1. Following the announcement, Co-op revealed plans to open 18 new or upgraded stores in the first quarter of 2026. The first new store opened in Willowbrook Park, Didcot, with others set to reopen after renovations in locations like Eastern Green, Coventry, and Ealing, London.
Moreover, Co-op has outlined its initiative to create thousands of new apprenticeships by 2030, with a £70 million investment to facilitate 7,000 matched apprenticeships. This program allows levy-paying employers to transfer unused apprenticeship levy funds to support businesses, charities, and community groups, with over 3,800 apprenticeships already matched in the past four years, a significant portion benefiting deprived communities and the care sector.
