Devon and Cornwall Police issued a statement indicating that they received a report at 3:40 pm on Thursday, October 9, regarding a carrier bag found at the base of the Man and Boy statue, believed to contain a bone. The bag and bone have been secured, with initial confirmation that the bone is human. Further examination by specialists will be conducted to determine its age as the investigation progresses.
Authorities have not yet determined the age or source of the bone but intend to conduct specialized tests. Witnesses observed two police vehicles in the vicinity on Thursday, with officers wearing gloves handling evidence bags.
