Tommy Robinson is awaiting the outcome of his trial, facing a delay of three weeks due to his upcoming visit to Israel as an official guest. The 42-year-old far-right activist was detained at the Channel Tunnel last year with a substantial amount of cash in his silver Bentley. During the incident, PC Mitchell Thorogood requested access to Robinson’s iPhone under the Terrorism Act, which Robinson refused to provide, though he denies any non-compliance.
Claiming to be a journalist, Robinson asserted that the phone contained information related to “vulnerable girls.” If convicted, Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, could face a sentence of up to three months. He mentioned in a video that his legal fees were being covered by Elon Musk, the owner of the platform where the video was posted.
Despite the completion of both prosecution and defense arguments, the verdict on Robinson’s case is pending. The Westminster Magistrates’ Court learned that Robinson is scheduled to travel to Israel until October 25. Due to this development, Judge Sam Goozee postponed the decision until November 4, accommodating Robinson’s travel plans.
Following the court proceedings, Robinson announced on social media his impending trip to Israel, expressing solidarity with the Jewish state in the fight against extremism. He extended thanks to Elon Musk for his support and emphasized his role as a guest of the Israeli government and a staunch ally of the Jewish people.
