“Ukrainian ‘Ghost’ Unit Takes Down Russian Radar & Missiles”

A secretive Ukrainian special unit known as the “ghost” team has successfully taken down two significant Russian radar stations and a missile launcher in eastern Donbas, as reported by the Mirror. Operating under the radar of Russian forces, the covert drone squad infiltrated enemy territory to neutralize two Podlet low-altitude radars and a 9A82 missile launcher, aiming to impede Russian advancements in the area.

By eliminating the anti-air defense system, Ukraine gains opportunities to launch more impactful assaults on Russia’s industrial and energy facilities. Additionally, a Russian troop-carrying truck was destroyed in a drone strike orchestrated by special forces, diverting Moscow’s troops from their frontline operations.

Ukraine’s intelligence agencies view the destruction of the troop-carrier as an added advantage since it was only detected during the drone attack on the weapon installations. Amidst reports of Russian troops entering the besieged city of Pokrovsk, Kyiv refuted claims of its forces being surrounded as misinformation.

The potential fall of Pokrovsk could provide Russia with a strategic foothold for further incursions into Ukraine, despite international calls for a peaceful resolution. As clashes escalate within the city and reports of Moscow’s sabotage teams infiltrating emerge, the situation remains tense.

In a broader context, a UN report highlights Russian drone teams targeting civilians to coerce them out of their homes in eastern regions. Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed the involvement of its special operations unit Prymary (“Ghosts”) in the recent assault, although the exact location remains undisclosed.

Recent efforts by Ukraine to dismantle Russian ground-to-air defense missile systems have impacted Moscow’s industrial capabilities significantly. President Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries have reduced oil refining capacity by 20%, with over 90% of these strikes attributed to domestically produced long-range weapons.

The disruption of Russia’s oil exports, critical for funding the invasion of Ukraine, has become a primary focus for Ukrainian military strategy. As the U.S. and EU impose sanctions targeting Moscow’s energy sector, tensions persist despite diplomatic efforts to broker peace.

With the Kremlin’s reluctance to compromise, U.S. President Donald Trump announced upcoming sanctions on Russian oil giants, further intensifying economic pressure. Notably, key Russian oil customers like China and India show signs of reducing energy imports from Russia, aligning with efforts to curtail Moscow’s economic resources.

Efforts to weaken Putin’s financial capabilities through targeting energy exports highlight Ukraine’s commitment to diminishing Russian aggression. Recent operations by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence and armed forces have successfully neutralized high-value Russian radar and missile systems, showcasing a growing trend of strategic victories against Russian infrastructure.
