The latest rankings of the most expensive streets in the UK have been disclosed by the property platform Rightmove, with only one street outside London making the top list.
Securing the top spot as the priciest street is Winnington Road in Barnet, London, boasting an average asking price of £12,538,095. Following closely behind is Chester Square in Westminster, London, with an average asking price of £11,546,428, and The Bishops Avenue in Barnet, London, in third place at £8,930,650.
Breaking the London dominance, East Road in Elmbridge, Surrey, emerges as the costliest street outside the capital, with an average price of £8,795,714, the sole non-London street in the top 20 ranking.
In other regions, Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh stands out as Scotland’s most expensive street at £560,000, while Hollybush Road in Cardiff leads in Wales with an average of £1,237,500.
The rankings are based on data from Rightmove, including streets with at least five homes listed for sale in January of this year.
Commenting on the findings, Colleen Babcock, a property expert at Rightmove, noted the perennial fascination with Britain’s priciest streets. She highlighted Winnington Road’s resurgence as the nation’s costliest address and the overwhelming presence of London streets in the top 20, underscoring the city’s supremacy in the ultra-prime property market.
Babcock also pointed out Elmbridge in Surrey as a standout for buyers seeking prestigious locations beyond London, being the sole non-capital area in the top 20 list.
