Tesco Pharmacies: Your Convenient Health Partner

When it comes to safeguarding our well-being, sometimes we need a bit of extra assistance and guidance. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies throughout the UK attending to more than half a million customers weekly, is there to lend a hand. They offer easy access to prescription medications, a wide range of healthcare services, and the opportunity to consult with their knowledgeable pharmacists while doing your regular shopping.

Many individuals find it challenging to schedule vital health assessments amidst their hectic schedules. When time is scarce, turning to online sources for solutions to complex health concerns can often be more worrisome than reassuring.

“This is why we provide prompt and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and health and wellness products in our pharmacies that customers can utilize while already in the store,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and immunizations to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies are a comprehensive destination for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

Pharmacists can also save your time by prescribing treatments for various common conditions, such as sore throats, earaches, infected insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs, through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

There is also support available for enduring health concerns. “Our Tesco Pharmacists have received additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and British Heart Foundation to provide information and assistance, raise awareness, and lower the risks of cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “When you’re at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and ask to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge.”

“If you have inquiries regarding your heart health, our pharmacy teams are here to offer a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no hassle, no appointment required,” Tom notes. “A few moments in the store can offer peace of mind or prompt support if necessary.”

This year alone, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers – a valuable service making a significant impact.

It’s not just customers who benefit from the services provided by in-store pharmacies. “Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience of assistance through our pharmacies and other health services,” Tom adds.

“All employees can utilize virtual GP appointments and additional aid on topics like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
