Amazon is releasing a major upgrade for Fire TV devices this month, promising a revamped and improved user experience. The new design is touted to be faster, cleaner, and better organized, making it simpler for users to discover desired content.
The update introduces new categories for easier navigation, including movies, TV shows, news, live content, and sports from all utilized services. Users can now pin their favorite apps to the home screen, access a user-friendly menu system, and quickly open the Shortcut Panel by long-pressing the Home button without interrupting their current video playback.
Notably, the free system update offers a performance enhancement of up to 30%. Additionally, a dedicated football hub will keep Fire TV users informed about upcoming matches and provide direct access to live games through local providers, just in time for the upcoming summer football season.
The improved Fire TV experience is currently being rolled out to Fire TV Stick HD (newest model) and Amazon Ember Artline devices, with plans to extend the update to other models like the Fire TV Stick 4K Max soon.
Amazon has assured users that the update will automatically reach their compatible devices in the following weeks if not received yet. For those eager to get the update sooner, a device restart might trigger the new interface. Simply navigate to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart and await the refreshed experience.
