In the quest for a missing British man in Spain, a body has been discovered. Marc Tulloch Hewson, who went missing in Torrevieja, was last seen in the Los Balcones area on September 20. Hewson, a 63-year-old expat, was not residing in the area where he disappeared but had recently left his home in Orihuela Costa before being admitted to Torrevieja Hospital. After his discharge in the early hours of September 19, he vanished.
Reports indicate that Hewson’s mental health was deteriorating, and he was last seen collecting bottles in a carrier bag at Los Balcones without shoes or any form of identification. Subsequently, a body recovered from the water at the fishing port of Aguilas in Murcia is believed to be that of Hewson. Spanish media have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Marc’s wife, Catherine, had made a formal appeal on October 7, actively participating in the search efforts alongside his sister, Fiona Crowther. Fiona expressed gratitude for the support received during the search, confirming the identification of the body as Marc’s. Kelsey Johnson, another searcher, acknowledged the community’s support and shared the unfortunate news of Hewson’s discovery, thanking everyone for their involvement.
