Williams, known for her prominent role in the motorsport realm and as one of the few women to lead an F1 team, spent nearly 20 years with the Williams team established by her late father, Sir Frank Williams. She ascended to the role of deputy team principal in 2013, overseeing the team’s daily operations and representing the Williams family on the board until the team’s acquisition by Dorilton Capital in 2020.
With her experience in F1, Williams is now contemplating leveraging her leadership skills for a potential political career. Sources familiar with the matter have informed Mirror Sport that Williams is considering standing as a Conservative candidate in the next General Election, though concrete plans are not in place at present.
Possessing a degree in politics from Newcastle University, Williams expressed her interest in a political career, stating that she has contemplated the idea. She emphasized her desire to drive positive change and enhance the lives of individuals, drawing parallels between her passion for F1 team management and her aspiration to foster a conducive environment for success and happiness in politics.
Reflecting on the prospect of running for MP, Williams remarked on her enthusiasm for effecting positive transformations to benefit society. Drawing on her experiences in F1, she emphasized the importance of creating a supportive and productive environment for individuals, underscoring the need for politicians to prioritize enhancing people’s lives.
