Six months have passed since siblings Jack, 4, and Lilly Sullivan, 6, disappeared from their bedroom in Lansdowne Station, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Their mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, notified authorities when she realized they were missing from their rural home where they lived with her, stepfather Daniel Martell, and younger sister Meadow.
Reports indicate that the children were playing in a nearby room around 10 am, but when checked on later, they were gone, believed to have exited through the patio door. A search was immediately launched, with interviews conducted. Local resident Brad Wong mentioned hearing a loud vehicle near the home early on May 2.
Court documents revealed Wong saw lights over the treetops from his elevated residence and observed a vehicle leaving multiple times in the early hours. Another neighbor, Justin Smith, heard a vehicle near the railroad tracks around 1:30 am. Daniel Martell stated he went to bed early and no one left the house that night.
Malehya mentioned that Daniel claimed to have stayed up cleaning, although she found it unchanged in the morning. Despite extensive efforts, the children remain missing. Malehya expressed her anguish on Facebook, emphasizing her love and longing for Lilly and Jack.
While theories circulate online, authorities maintain it as a missing persons case with no current evidence of criminal involvement. An upcoming search operation on November 15, organized by Please Bring Me Home, aims to locate the children before winter sets in. Volunteers will assist in the search, as the organization steps in to aid in this unusual case.
