Virgin Media has slashed the price of its fastest broadband offering to a new all-time low. The company has initiated an unexpected sale, reducing the cost of its high-speed Gig1 Fibre Broadband by over £70.
The Gig1 plan boasts speeds of up to 1,130Mbps and typically retails at £29.99 per month. However, it is currently available at a discounted rate of £26.99, resulting in a total savings of £72 over the 24-month contract period, averaging about 87p per day.
Virgin claims that this promotion marks the “lowest ever price” for the Gig1 service. With these rapid speeds, users can download a feature-length HD movie in under 30 seconds and have a 50GB PS5 game ready to play within seven minutes.
While households with 70Mbps speeds may experience game downloads taking more than 90 minutes, Virgin’s Gig1 package ensures seamless streaming and online gaming with its ultra-fast connection.
It is essential to note that the discounted rate of £26.99 will increase twice during the minimum contract term, rising to £30.99 from April 2027 and £34.99 from April 2028.
