A well-loved “trucker girl” influencer who encouraged women to enter the predominantly male field of truck driving has sadly passed away.
Oti Cabadas, popularly known as Coco Trucker Girl, tragically died at the age of 41 after collapsing on her way home from a classic car event. The social media sensation, with a substantial online following for her positive trucking videos, began experiencing severe headaches before fainting in Alcaniz, Spain. She was swiftly airlifted to a hospital in Zaragoza but, unfortunately, succumbed shortly after due to an unforeseen stroke.
Originally from Fornelos de Montes, Galicia, Oti transitioned from a career in hairdressing to pursue the open road in large vehicles. Starting her trucking journey at 22, she eventually settled in Palencia, where her vocation flourished.
Despite being discouraged by a teacher early on, Oti embarked on extensive journeys across Europe, documenting her adventures through videos. Her charm, humor, and infectious positivity made her a social media hit, particularly on TikTok, where she amassed over 300,000 followers. Through her content, she shared the highs and lows of life on the road, including her trademark “red-lip Fridays.”
Moreover, she used her platform to advocate for work-life balance and equal opportunities in the transportation industry. Following her untimely passing, tributes poured in from the trucking community in Spain.
The Spanish Confederation of Freight Transport praised Oti’s inspirational impact, emphasizing her joy, dedication to her profession, and her role in empowering women in the industry. They commended her for sharing her life on social media, spreading energy and enthusiasm, and imparting the invaluable lesson of pursuing one’s passions.
