Nigel Farage has seemingly agreed with David Lammy’s criticism of a Reform MP’s outdated language. While standing in for Keir Starmer during PMQs, the Deputy Prime Minister denounced the “racist” remarks made by Sarah Pochin on TalkTV last month.
Responding to a caller, MP Ms Pochin expressed frustration with advertisements featuring non-white individuals. Lammy condemned her language as belonging to a backward era.
During the session, Lammy also took aim at Reform’s performance in Kent, citing multiple issues within the council. In response, Farage nodded in agreement, indicating alignment with Lammy’s statements.
Following a question from Labour MP Tristan Osborne regarding the state of the Reform-led council in Kent, concerns were raised about the council’s leadership and conduct. Ms Pochin later apologized for any offense caused by her comments but stood by her view that many adverts do not accurately represent British society.
The exchange highlighted divisions and controversies within the political landscape, emphasizing the importance of respectful and inclusive language in public discourse.
